The Council of the College of Education for Humanities Holds its Eighth Open Session for the Academic Year 2025–2026

With the blessing of God, the College Council held its eighth open session for the academic year 2025–2026 this Tuesday morning, June 9, 2026. The meeting was chaired by the Dean of the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Anbar, Professor Dr. Taha Ibrahim Shabib, and attended by the esteemed council members. The session commenced with a welcoming speech by the Council's President, who greeted the members and emphasized the importance of continuous teamwork to advance the college's academic and administrative progress.

During the session, the council discussed several key agendas:

  • Ministerial and University Directives: The council reviewed the instructions and recommendations of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the University Presidency, emphasizing strict compliance to enhance academic and administrative performance and elevate institutional standards.

  • Final Examinations Follow-up: The Dean confirmed that the council will remain in a continuous, open-ended session throughout the final examination period. This is aimed at monitoring and directly supervising the first-stage final exams, as well as addressing any emerging updates within the granted authorities.

  • Digital Transformation: In alignment with the university's shift towards digitalization, the council stressed the importance of reducing paper consumption in official transactions and scientific activities. It urged the adoption of electronic means to present conference, seminar, and workshop agendas via digital screens and QR codes, alongside utilizing electronic registration for attendance and issuing digital certificates for participants.

  • Academic Promotions: The council reviewed academic promotion files for several faculty members to the ranks of Lecturer, Assistant Professor, and Professor, following the fulfillment of all approved administrative and scientific requirements.

  • Scientific Research Support: The council highlighted the importance of supporting scientific research, urging faculty members to publish in reputable international journals and databases, particularly Scopus and Clarivate, to bolster the academic and research standing of both the college and the university locally and internationally.

  • Program Accreditation & Student Affairs: The session witnessed discussions on completing program accreditation requirements and improvement plans for scientific departments. This aims to align with quality and academic development standards, alongside addressing postgraduate and undergraduate student affairs.

At the conclusion of the session, the council deliberated on the remaining items on the agenda and took the necessary decisions and recommendations in accordance with its authorized powers.
