Educational awareness campaign about breast cancer

 Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Taha Ibrahim Shabib, Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, in cooperation with the Women's Affairs Unit and the Student Activities Unit at the college, organized a comprehensive awareness campaign entitled (Breast Cancer and Ways to Prevent It? What are the Effective Measures to Reduce This Disease) today, Tuesday, 10/8/2024.

The campaign aims to educate women about the dangers of this disease and the necessity of early detection, prevention, and places for periodic examination.

The campaign explained that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month by defining what breast cancer is, what are the risks of this disease, and the necessity of early detection because of its effective contribution to accelerating treatment and the possibility of recovery and improvement in a better time.

The campaign showed that breast cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in the world in 2020. The International Agency for Research on Cancer estimates that there are more than 2.26 million new cases of breast cancer and about 685,000 deaths due to breast cancer worldwide. In 2020, breast cancer was ranked fifth among the most common causes of cancer death in general, as breast cancer is the most widespread cancer in the world.

The campaign included distributing awareness posters and holding educational meetings and dialogues with female students and employees of the college about spreading awareness and explaining the danger of breast cancer and the importance of early detection in order to combat it and ways to prevent it.

The Dean of the College stated that these initiatives come to spread awareness and support noble humanitarian community issues with the aim of spreading positivity and highlighting the latest modern technologies used in treatment. Which contributes to creating a distinguished healthy environment in society.
