Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Taha Ibrahim Shabib, Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, in cooperation with the Student Activities Unit at the college, organized a comprehensive educational awareness campaign (Mental Health? An integral part of public health) today, Thursday, 10/10/2024.

The campaign aims to educate and raise awareness among students about the concept of mental health and find appropriate solutions to the problems they face and the ability to deal with the surrounding environment.

The campaign explained that October 10 of each year is the World Day for Raising Public Awareness of Mental Health Issues, and this day is part of a larger celebration, which is "Mental Illness Awareness Week".

The campaign demonstrated the importance of mental health through positive dealing with various problems and pressures in addition to psychological stability and protecting oneself from stress and fear. In addition, it helps the individual understand himself and others around him, which leads to achieving harmony and adaptation with his society.

The campaign included distributing awareness posters and holding educational awareness meetings and dialogues with students about mental health as an integral part of public health, so it is necessary to work together for sound mental health for the individual and society.

Mr. Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and Registration, Assistant Professor Dr. Huthaifa Yousef Turki, stated that caring for public health and satisfying basic needs to form a positive image and a healthy attitude towards oneself and a healthy family upbringing free of violence, psychological anxiety and fear.
