Workshop entitled (Raising Awareness for People with Special Needs in Society)

 Under the sponsorship of the Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, Professor Dr. Taha Ibrahim Shabib, the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center and the Directorate of Labor and Social Affairs in Anbar Governorate, organized a workshop entitled "Raising Awareness for People with Special Needs in Society". The workshop was held in Abu Al-Barakat Al-Anbari Hall on Wednesday 10/16/2024. The workshop was attended by: - ??Mr. Yasser Abdul Hamid / Director of the Directorate of Labor and Social Affairs in Anbar Governorate. - Ms. Hanan Awda Abdullah / Director of the Department of Care for the people with special needs in Anbar Governorate - Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Khalaf Rashid- Assistant Professor Dr. Muthanna Ismail Turki .The workshop aimed to develop programs, plans and policies that achieve the full participation of people with disabilities and special needs in various areas of life within society without any form of discrimination, and to rehabilitate the infrastructure and provide an appropriate environment for people with special needs.

The workshop recommended paying attention to this important segment as they are people with high aspirations and achieving  the desired goals of this workshop, which are: helping people with special needs to practice their daily lives smoothly by helping them train and master these skills, knowing their most important psychological needs and dealing with them on a scientific and psychological basis, urging them to pay attention to the independent aspect of their daily lives and stay away from dependence and reliance on others, and making them a productive group in society by guiding them with professional guidance according to the severity, degree and nature of the disability and encouraging them to think positively. The workshop was attended by a number of professors and students, and after the event, the attendees had the opportunity to ask questions and make interventions that were answered by the lecturers. In conclusion, everyone thanked the College of Education for Humanities for providing the opportunity to exchange ideas between professors and students, and stressed the need to communicate to hold future meetings and training courses.
